Tomoko Asagami, MD, PhD, MBA
Dr. Tomoko earned MD and PhD degrees from Nihon University, Tokyo, Japan, where she also did a residency and worked as a cardiologist. She went to the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University for a postdoctoral fellowship. There, she studied the link between insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease. After that, she worked as a physician in Japan for 7 years. In 2018, she earned MBA from University of Massachusetts Lowell. She handles mainly medical devise, regenerative medicine, and pharmaceutical projects at Globizz as a researcher.
Maris De Guzman, M.D.
Ms. Maris De Guzman, M.D. grew up in Manila. She earned her BS Food Technology and then continued her studies in the medical field. She obtained her Medical Doctor degree at Far Eastern University-NRMF and worked as a General Practitioner after obtaining her Physician Licensure exam in the Philippines. She also gained an experience working as a Utilization Reviewer. She moved to the US in 2017 and obtained her certification in Medical Coding. While she is expanding her knowledge of the research field, her experience in the areas of medicine make her an asset as a researcher at Globizz.
Miyuki Nagao
Miyuki was born in Kumamoto, Japan and after graduating High school, moved to Hawaii for college and then transferred to California State University, Fullerton where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. At Globizz, she work as an Assistant Manager at the Tokyo office supporting companies wanting to expand their business in the United States.
Saaya Hirai
Hokkaido, Japan is Saaya’s hometown. As a junior high school student, she had the opportunity to study in New Zealand. This experience sparked her interest in studying abroad in the future and to widen her knowledge and language skills which led to attending the Ming Chuan University in Taiwan, directly after high school, to study International Business in Mandarin and English. Through her studies at the University and internships in Taiwan and the United states, she has expanded her experience and knowledge especially in world trade. Saaya continues to learn and applies her knowledge as a Project Coordinator Assistant for Globizz at the Tokyo office.
Leila Yamashita
Leila grew up in Los Angeles, CA, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from University of California Riverside. She has been doing figure skating from a young age, and she is utilizing the skills she developed through the sport, as well as her bilingual and biochemistry background as an assistant researcher at Globizz.
Momoka Nakamura
Momoka was born in Japan, lived in New York until the age of 10 years old, so she graduated elementary and middle school in Japan but came back to the US when she was in high school. She earned her B.S. Degree in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology, at UCLA. During her undergraduate, she gained hands-on research experience in the field of Developmental Biology and Bioinformatics focused on genetics, epigenetics, and molecular biology. Her previous internship experience in medical consulting cultivated a global perspective in both the US and Japanese healthcare systems.
Natsumi Okajima
Natsumi was born and raised in Japan before moving to the U.S. to pursue a B.S. Degree in Food Science and Technology at Cal Poly Pomona. During her undergraduate studies, she demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit by launching her own business, selling Japanese homemade sweets at the Palos Verdes Farmers Market. Her professional experience includes a role as a Product Developer at a plant-based sweets company and an internship in Research and Development at a food and beverage consulting firm specializing in startups.

Takahiro Haruyama, MBA
After graduating from university, Haruyama began his career at Citizen Watch, where he quickly advanced in product planning across Asia. His international expertise expanded through key assignments in Dubai, where he managed operations across the Middle East, Russia, East Asia, and Africa. He later moved to the United States, overseeing subsidiaries in the US, Canada, and the UK, ultimately retiring as an executive officer in the US. Under his leadership, Citizen Watch achieved the number one market share in the US, showcasing his ability to drive global business success.
Building on this foundation, Haruyama went on to establish a successful welfare equipment sales company in the US, gaining invaluable experience in the competitive American medical equipment market. He then joined a leading Japanese medical device company, where he played a critical role in developing domestically produced devices, securing international product rights, and managing R&D efforts. His contributions spanned the development of key medical technologies, such as orthopedic implants and respiratory consumables, while also gaining deep insights into clinical environments in Japan.
Now leading at Globizz, Haruyama is recognized for his strategic expertise in navigating the complex regulatory landscape of the US medical market. He believes that the pre-submission process with the FDA is a crucial phase that defines a product's global commercial success, and he has successfully led many companies through this process, securing approvals and market entry across multiple regions.
Haruyama is among the rare few with deep expertise in both Japanese and US markets, covering product development, regulatory applications, insurance reimbursement, sales, and after-sales service. His experience includes successfully driving the US market entry of Japanese welfare and medical equipment companies, establishing robust sales networks, consulting with physicians on product development, advising on local manufacturing, and securing medical insurance coverage in the US. He has also served as an outside director for a US-based medical device manufacturer, where he played a pivotal role in cultivating local sales and securing business negotiations with major American firms.
With a career spanning over 50 countries, Haruyama has excelled in managing global operations and negotiating international business contracts. His broad experience and successful track record make him a key figure in global business strategy, especially in the welfare and medical device sectors.
